College Relationships Can Be IntimiDATING

Here it is... the blog that you have all been waiting for. Well, the blog that my grandparents have been waiting for, at least. The post that goes into a little bit of detail about my dating life. And I'm sorry grandma, but I will reluctantly admit that there isn't much to it.

There's a guy here that I see practically every time I am on campus. He's basically the Troy Bolton of SUU. You can only imagine how good looking he is. For security purposes, we will refer to him as Troy. Well, about three weeks ago, I saw Troy in the Student Center while I was with a few friends. I whispered to my friend, Courtnie, that I see him literally everywhere and that he's SO cute. Naturally, she whipped out her phone and started typing something on Snapchat. I leaned over her shoulder and read the words, "Hey my friend thinks you're cute add her on snap @cami_******1." Next thing I knew she was trying to use the AirDrop feature to send it to nearby Apple users. Luckily, no one had their AirDrop on. That didn't stop her though. She asked these two girls sitting next to us if either one of them had a pencil and paper that she could borrow. So again, she wrote out the words, "Hey my friend thinks you're super cute! Add her on snap @cami_******1." The whole time she was doing this I was hoping she wouldn't follow through with it. I didn't want her to give him my Snapchat, but part of me did. Who knows what would happen next? Still, I was nervous and slightly embarrassed so I took off in the other direction as she walked towards him to give him the piece of paper. Sorry ladies, but I am about to expose all of us. If you all didn't know, a girls natural instinct when she sees a cute boy is to find him on social media. Courtnie was doing all of the work for me, in this case, so she found his Instagram. I didn't follow him though because I didn't want to seem like a stalker and scare him away.

I bet you're all waiting for me to get to the part where he added me on Snapchat. I'm sorry to break it to you, but he never did. However, as I said, I see this guy EVERYWHERE so I knew I was bound to run in to him again at some point. About a week later, I made my routinely visit to the local plasma donation center here in Cedar. What are the chances that I see Troy on a Saturday afternoon? Apparently very likely. I guess you could call it fate. When I first got there, I heard the employees call his name for screening. I looked up and noticed that it was HIM. After I went through screening, I saw him in the back in the waiting area. I sat in the furthest possible chair away from him because I was still embarrassed about the note from weeks ago. Fast forward to when I'm being seated to start donating, I notice that there's a spot open next to him, which meant that was where I was about to be placed. Thankfully, I was seated in the next row facing him. As I sat there for the next hour, I talked myself into making a move. What's the first move? Follow him on Instagram. So that night, I followed him on Instagram and refreshed my notifications every couple of hours to see if I had a new follower. The next day, he followed me back. And I know you're thinking, "who cares? It's just an Instagram follow." True, but it's the start of something new. Stay tuned to find out if I ever get the courage to slide in his DM's.
